CCTVTOOLS Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains how the CCTVTOOLS Android application (the “App”) handles information when you use its network and CCTV diagnostic tools. CCTVTOOLS is intended for systems that you own or are authorized to test.

Information processed

The App may process local IP addresses, subnet and gateway information, hostnames, neighbor information exposed by Android, service/port results, and CCTV endpoint details. These values are used to perform the operation you request and to display its result.

If you enter a camera or NVR username and password, the App uses those credentials only to authenticate with the device or service you selected. CCTVTOOLS does not provide a CCTVTOOLS cloud account and does not store those credentials in an App database. Credentials are held transiently for the operation and are cleared afterward. Result text, clipboard content and share intents redact credential-bearing URLs and named secrets where applicable.

Local network and CCTV connections

Discovery, ONVIF, HTTP/HTTPS, RTSP, snapshot, vendor and health-check operations connect to endpoints chosen by you or discovered on the permitted local network. Local discovery data is processed on the device. A connection necessarily sends the relevant request, including authentication data when you supplied it, to the selected camera, NVR, computer or network service.

Some older CCTV devices require HTTP. HTTP traffic is not encrypted in transit. Use HTTPS/TLS-capable devices where available and do not test systems without authorization.

External services

When you explicitly run the relevant tools, the App may contact:

• api.ipify.org for a public IP response;
• ipwho.is for the IP address supplied to the IP-location tool; and
• api.frankfurter.app for currency conversion parameters.

The provider may process normal connection metadata such as the source IP address under its own policies. CCTVTOOLS has no control over provider-side retention. Review the current provider policies before publication.

User-entered URLs, hosts and domains may also be contacted directly for the diagnostic operation you requested. Those targets receive the request according to their own policies.

The optional Reminder tool keeps its interval and message in transient screen/ViewModel state while the countdown is active. It does not create a cloud record, account event, persistent alarm service or notification database.

Storage and retention

CCTVTOOLS does not operate an account, cloud storage, analytics database or telemetry backend. The language preference is stored locally in Android SharedPreferences. Diagnostic results, credentials and endpoint values are used in transient app state; no app database or long-term credential store was found in the audited implementation. The operating system or a destination app controls any retention after you choose Copy or Share.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

CCTVTOOLS contains no analytics, advertising, advertising ID, crash-reporting, telemetry or user-profile tracking SDK in the audited release configuration.

Your control

You decide when to start a scan or connection, which endpoint to target, whether to provide credentials, and whether to copy or share a result. You can revoke local-network permissions in Android settings. Do not enter credentials for devices you are not authorized to administer.

Security

The App limits network operation time and response sizes, uses encrypted HTTPS/TLS when the selected endpoint supports it, redacts credentials from user-facing share/copy paths, and avoids persisting camera passwords. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection, especially when a device requires cleartext HTTP or when you share data with another app.

Children

CCTVTOOLS is a technical diagnostic utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal profiles from children.

Changes to this policy

The publisher may update this policy when the App's processing or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated for each revision.
